nude model demographics
Let’s just call it like it is: all but the 20-something model demographic is severely underrepresented in nude art. It’s a complicated issue, and I am not interested in pointing any fingers, especially if those fingers end up pointing at me. I do, however, feel compelled to venture away from the mainstream. I already know that it will be more difficult, because there are far fewer models outside of the 20-something demographic willing to do nude work. My loss, but only if I let it happen.
And don’t get me wrong. I don’t for a second mean to represent that I am doing this for anyone but myself and my own work. Art is a very selfish pursuit. I am no hero. Ask anyone.
And I happen to be attracted to “older” women (now closer to my current age). So utterly selfish. What a pig. :)
